Gwinnett Village CID Receives Grant
The Atlanta Regional Commission awarded a $48,000 grant to the Gwinnett Village CID for helping pedestrians and bike riders, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
The Atlanta Regional Commission awarded a $48,000 grant to the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
The grant could help with pedestrians and bike riders along Indian Trail-Lilburn Road. Landscaping and sidewalks have been on the CID agenda, with a managed-access landscaped median already in the works.
The study will also help evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Indian Trail's current crosswalks.

"The goal is to create a corridor that is safe and encourages further biking and pedestrian activity," Joel Wascher, a CID spokesman, said to the the Gwinnett Daily Post. "The study will utilize a highly engaging set of workshops to discuss issues and influences, engage experts in health, urban design and transportation techniques, and consider options for implementation."
The Gwinnett Village CID is also looking at other major transportation improvements. It held a public information meeting earlier this month to introduce the I-85 Transit Study, which is looking at the different types of transportation that could run from the Doraville MARTA station to the Gwinnett Arena.
