High School Hosts Vigil For Three Accident Victims

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the survivor of an SUV crash that took the lives of three high schoolers.

NORCROSS, GA β€” Students, teachers, family and friends came together Monday evening for a candlelight vigil at Meadowcreek High School in memory of three students who died last week in a traffic accident, according to a media report. A fourth student is being treated at a local hospital.

Brandon Martinez, 18, Nelson Umanzor, 18, and Naseer Alwakeel, 16, were killed Friday night in a crash near the high school following a football game. Martinez was driving a Toyota SUV in the 4400 block of Steve Reynolds Boulevard when the vehicle struck a guardrail, flipped over and hit a tree, according to the Gwinnett County police.

Umanzor and Alwakeel were passengers in the vehicle, along with Messiah Allen, 17, who's being treated at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

At Monday's event, their fellow students and teachers reflected on the loss of the three high schoolers, WSB-TV Channel 2 reported.

Messiah Allen's father, Alexander Allen, is staying at his son's side, which makes it difficult to make ends meet, WXIA-TV 11 Alive reported. As a self-employed painter, he has no health insurance and no means of paying his son's medical expenses.
