Man Charged With Threatening People At Gwinnett Social Security Office

A 65-year-old man was accused of threatening and insulting people at a Social Security office in Gwinnett County.

NORCROSS, GA — A 65-year-old man has been arrested after being accused of threatening people at a Social Security office in Norcross, Gwinnett County Police said Friday.

They said they responded to the office on Wednesday in the 4000 block of Shackleford Road.

Officers received witness video of who they identified as Robert Burke, police said, adding he was accused of threatening and verbally insulting several people in front of multiple children at the office.

Burke was accused of previously causing disturbances at the building. He was not at the scene when officers arrived, police said.

Officers issued an arrest warrant to charge Burke with disorderly conduct, police said. He was arrested on Thursday after police said he caused a disturbance at a hotel in the 3000 block of Venture Parkway in Duluth.

Gwinnett County Jail records on Friday showed Burke remained incarcerated.
