More Online Learning Tools Available For Students

Gwinnett students and teachers in 33 Gwinnett County Public Schools will have access to new eClass resources this year.

Gwinnett students and teachers will have new digital tools at the start of the 2013-2014 school year as part of theΒ Gwinnett County Public SchoolsΒ onlineΒ eCLASS initiative.Β

Gwinnett students in 33 GCPS schoolsΒ in the Archer, Berkmar, Duluth, North Gwinnett, and Shiloh eCLASS pilot clustersΒ will have access to new digital resourcesΒ as they useΒ the new eCLASS Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) Tool.Β

The C&I ToolΒ facilitates teaching and learning and enhances communication.Β

ParticipatingΒ teachersΒ willΒ create a course pageΒ that will giveΒ students with access to digital contentΒ directly tied to what they are learning and toΒ meet each student’s learning needs.Β

Students will visit their teacher’s course page throughΒ the MYeCLASSΒ student portal. Once there, students will be able to check assignments, read materials, watch a video, collaborate with classmates, submit assignments, and even take classroom assessments.Β

The C&I Tool initiallyΒ will be available to teachers in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, Spanish I, and elementary level visual arts.Β Teachers will determineΒ how to best blend these digital resources with other learning activities.

All Gwinnett County students will find new digital instructional materials available to them through the MYeCLASSstudent portal.

The newest digital textbook additions include middle school mathematics (grades 6-8), high school mathematicsΒ (gradesΒ 9Β and 10), and high school chemistry and physics. These new online textbooksΒ include a variety of engaging learning opportunities and resources.Β

Additionally, Gwinnett students in grades K-8 will have access to Classworks, aΒ new tool for enrichment and acceleration. Classworks is a web-based program thatΒ provides engaging learning activities in mathematics and language arts.
