New Retail, Business Mall Coming to Cemetery St and Buford Hwy

A new building permit was issued Thursday that will bring a 17,000-square-foot double-decker retail, business and restaurant development to Buford Hwy and Cemetery St. 

The owner of Efa Properties, LLC says that the two-story structure that was approved at parcel number 6243 007 on Buford Hwy will also have basement parking. The building will be across from the Plaza Latina and next door to Centro Norcross, on the corner. 

“I’ve been working for six years—finally!” said the owner of the property shortly after the permit was issued. He said that the long delay was partly his fault, but that he knows that the time to build is now. Since he hasn't got his the correct licenses, he will be hiring an outside firm to do the building. 

He said that the property will have service-based retail, like hair salons, and also business space. There will also be room for one restaurant.

The site is about 1 acre, so the underground parking was necessary to fit more into the property, according to the design firm, Consulting Enterprises Corporation.
