The City of Norcross commemorated Arbor Day by planting a large red maple tree in Thrasher Park earlier this month.  The tree was placed next to the playground where it will provide shade and spectacular fall color for future generations. The effort was spearheaded by the Norcross Tree Preservation Board. Planting a tree for Arbor Day is one of several efforts the board organizes that earns Norcross a "Tree City USA" designation.
