Norcross Shooting Suspect At Large; Woman Injured

The public's help is sought in finding a 44-year-old man Gwinnett County Police said shot a woman at a Norcross hotel.

NORCROSS, GA — A 44-year-old man Gwinnett County Police called "armed and dangerous" is being sought in connection with the Aug. 15 noon shooting of a woman at an Oakbrook Parkway hotel.

Police identified the shooting suspect Monday as Jamel Leslie Cooke, who remains at large. The motive is robbery related, police said.

Warrants were issued to charge Cooke on suspicion of aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.

Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid, and the woman was taken to a local hospital.

Cooke's whereabouts were unknown as of mid-Monday afternoon.
