Police ID Victim, Suspect in Norcross Security Guard Shooting

Authorities still aren't sure of a motive in the shooting, they said Friday.

NORCROSS, GA — Police have identified the victim, and a suspect, in the Thursday morning shooting of a security guard at a Norcross hotel.

Gwinnett County Police say William Hudson, 46, was shot multiple times in a hallway of the Norcross Extended Stay, at 2250 Pelican Dr. in Norcross.

Police were alerted to the shooting early Thursday by a 911 call from a resident of the hotel. When officers arrived, they found Hudson in a hallway of the hotel.

He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was taken into surgery and listed in critical condition.

Xavier Geder, 32, has been identified as a suspect in the shooting.

Gwinnett police have two active warrants for Geder, for aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

The motive in the shooting is still being investigated, police said.
