Police Raid Mental Health Hospital, Dozens Of Complaints Filed
BREAKING: More than 50 police officers questioned employees and gathered evidence at two Gwinnett Co. Lakeview Behavioral Health locations.
NORCROSS, GA — More than 50 police officers today raided two Lakeview Behavioral Health buildings in Gwinnett County. The raid, during which officers questioned employees and gathered evidence, was a result of a very large-scale investigation launched by officials in September after receiving 46 claims of patient abuse and neglect against the facility.
Police spent hours at Lakeview's primary location at 1 Technology Pkwy. S. in addition to another location on Medlock Bridge Road, WSB-TV Atlanta reports. The raid was tied to earlier allegations against the facility, including complaints where a patient was allegedly found in a freezer and a child lost a toe, according to reports. Police also received complaints regarding theft and sexual abuse.
Police told WSB-TV the complaints date back to 2017 and the ages of the alleged victims range from 23 to 65 years old. As of now, no charges have been filed against the facility or employees.
