Rockbridge Elementary Hosts AWARE Wildlife Center Celebration
The Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort (AWARE) event is scheduled Tuesday, April 1.

Atlanta, GA –- SCANA Energy will welcome the Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort (AWARE) Wildlife Center at its end-of-year homework center celebration on Tuesday, April 1, from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Rockbridge Elementary School on 6066 Rockbridge School Road in Norcross.
Trained naturalists will bring Georgia native wildlife animals, including hawks, owls and squirrels, to the homework center. They’ll discuss their natural behaviors, individual history, and importance in the environment with the students.

The Rockbridge Elementary Homework Center operates from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The center serves 30 fourth and fifth grade students. “We are proud of our teachers and students for their hard work this year. We look forward to a continued partnership with SCANA Energy in years to come,” says Kelly McConnachie, principal of Rockbridge.
SCANA Energy Homework Centers provide a safe and structured study environment where students can complete their class assignments and learn proper study skills. Each homework center operates with two certified teachers who are responsible for the total management of the program. SCANA Energy provides funds for the teachers, an assistant, snacks, and student incentives. Additional Georgia Homework Centers include elementary schools in East Point, Macon, Marietta, Rome, and Tucker.
