Suspect in Deadly Norcross Hit-And-Run Arrested

The female victim's name has still not been released as family members are being notified, police said.

NORCROSS, GA — A Lilburn man has been arrested in a Norcross hit-and-run case in which a woman was killed on Sunday.

Carlos Hernandez-Tecata, 44, is charged with driving without a license, felony hit and run and felony vehicular homicide, Gwinnett County Police said Tuesday.

The identity of the female victim was still being withheld Tuesday until family members have been notified.

The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Norcross Tucker Road.

When police arrived, they discovered the victim lying in the roadway.

Investigation revealed that the woman was hit by a dark colored pickup truck, police say. After the truck hit her, it drove off.
