How does tapping work?

Tapping has been described as emotional acupuncture,
but without the needles. Tapping on certain meridian points
can be used to release physical and emotional pain,
negative beliefs that drive our lives, and old negative
behavior patterns. At the end of a tapping session, the
person develops peace, focus, mental clarity, and the
ability to take inspired action!

"What tapping does with amazing efficiency, is halt the
fight-or-flight response and reprograms the brain and body
to act-and-react- differently...Research at Harvard Medical
School over the past decade has shown that stimulation of
selected meridian acupoints decreases activity in the amygdala,
hippocampus, (another part of the limbic system), and
other parts of the brain associated with fear."
Nick Ortner,
in his bestselling book, The Tapping Solution. The Harvard
Study focused on needles; another well designed study showed
that stimulating the points, as in tapping, produced similar
results in the brain. Other scientific research has documented
changes in the stress hormone cortisol's levels, which
diminished 24-50% after a 1 hour tapping session.

In this workshop you will learn how to tap. Volunteers will
bring up an issue they would like to improve. Whether or
not you choose to be one of those who tap on an issue,
you will find that you leave feeling relaxed and mentally
clear.
