Hickory Flat Community Nominations now being accepted for the Annual Carter and Elizabeth Browning Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the Fourth Annual Carter and Elizabeth Browning Award.  This award has been established to honor the dedication of these two individuals who devoted themselves to students and adults in the Hickory Flat community. The late Carter Browning served as the principal at Hickory Flat Elementary for twenty-four years, while his wife served that same length of time as the school media specialist.  They resided in a home next to the school and unselfishly dedicated themselves to Hickory Flat Elementary as well as to the entire Hickory Flat community.    They were a team that exemplified the highest qualities of service, dedication, care and compassion to those they served.

If you know of an individual or a group that has made a significant impact on this community, the committee would like to receive that nomination.   Those nominated may be deceased or living.

Nomination forms may be received by calling 678-982-6373 or

678-794-9088 to receive one by mail or email.  Deadline for receipt of the nominations is April 1st..   The award ceremony is open to the public and is planned for Thursday, April 25th. 7 pm at Antioch Christian Church on Sugar Pike Road.
