At the January meeting of the Old Noonday Chapter of DAR the daughters were pleased to welcome Dr. Barbara Long as their speaker of the month. Dr. Long regaled the group on her 15 year struggle and fruition finding one of her ancestors. Because this mystery began in 1864, she was finally able to determine the paternal line through DNA. She has published a guidebook with her story and the steps needed to follow in the process of securing DNA samples.
