Materials Used In Piece: 18k White Gold X-1 with a 1.14ct SI1 J GIA center stone, 0.50ct tw diamonds (GH SI) in mounting

Inspiration: I’ve always been attracted to antique and vintage items. There’s something about an old piece that connects me to the past and reminds me how the world is so much grander and richer than I acknowledge in the typical day. So when I started dreaming up the ring, I knew I wanted to incorporate milgrain details into the design – which were common in vintage pieces. I also wanted some hand engraved looking details on the side of the ring – so I put some of those in as well. However, it needed something more: I’m always looking for a twist on classic designs, so I knew I wanted to give my vintage inspired piece something a little different. Once halo designs became popular, I kept thinking about ways to transform it. I had the idea to create a hexagon halo with a round brilliant center diamond. I love how the six prongs fill in the void of the hexagon shape. Another inspiration was the infinity symbol and its meaning (something “without limit” and “no end”), so I incorporated the infinity twist details into the design as well. I call my design “Luxe Hexagonal Halo” – Luxe is a line of jewelry that we sell in our store that our employees design and create (Stuller cast and set the stones in this piece for me!).
I am actually wearing the ring as I type this. It makes me smile thinking about how much fun I had dreaming it up. So cool how it became a tangible piece of art.
