ATLANTA HUMANE SOCIETY AIMS TO RAISE $100,000 FOR HOMELESS PETS

Atlanta Humane Society's 2014 Pet Parade

WHAT: Put on your walking shoes and find your pup’s best leash – it’s time to walk to save Atlanta’s homeless animals one step at a time. On Sat., Nov. 1, Atlanta Humane Society will host the 24th edition of its annual Pet Parade to raise awareness about animal homelessness in Atlanta and work to increase pet adoptions. Pets and their owners are invited to participate in a mile-long scenic walk-a-thon through Garrard Landing Park. All event proceeds will go directly towards helping Atlanta’s homeless animals in need. The 2014 Pet Parade aims to raise $100,000 to continue the Atlanta Humane Society’s mission to ensure each animal has a safe place to call home.

Atlanta Humane Society asks individual participants and teams to collect donations from family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online, by mail or in person at one of Atlanta Humane Society’s campuses prior to the event. There is also an opportunity to register the day of the event before the festivities begin. You can pre-register at http://atlantapetparade.org/ . All families, fidos and felines are welcome to participate in this fun event to solve a serious problem.

Activities throughout the day will include:
β€’ Animals available for adoption onsite and adoption counseling
β€’ Micro chipping booth
β€’ Family and pet friendly games and contests
β€’ Vendor booths
