Q. What's the hardest thing about being a small-business owner in Northeast Cobb?
A. In Georgia, clients don't want to travel very far for services, so you really need to make sure that your marketing is going to the right place.

Q. What's the best thing about your job?
A. I really enjoy working with our clients and helping them to be relaxed and pampered for just a little part of their day. Women especially need to take time out for themselves. And working with our great staff, because it does make it a joy to come to work.

Q. Why did you pick this particular kind of business?
A. I had a background in it. I had worked for spas off and on for 10 years. My husband is an entrepreneur. He was thinking about opening a massage place. With our combined backgrounds, we opened this place.

Q. What are some of the services you offer that people don't know about?
A. Monthly, noncontractual memberships in body services, including body wraps and body polishes, and hand and foot treatments.

Q. What advice can you offer to someone thinking about starting a small business?
A. Do your research. There are lots of small expenses that you might not anticipate. Talk to other small-business owners. Research your competition. Go as a client to competitors where you plan to open before you sign a lease.

Q. Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?
A. We strive to be a mom-and-pop, everybody-knows-your-name kind of business with excellent customer service and to make every client feel like a VIP, whether they're getting an eyebrow wax or a full day of service.
