DAN CUSHING NAMED 2014 VOLUNTEER OF YEAR

ATLANTA (Oct. 23, 2014) — Dan Cushing of Marietta will receive the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s 2014 Volunteer of the Year award for his service at the McCleskey-East Cobb/Northeast Cobb Family YMCAs. He will be honored at the annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 10, 2014.

Cushing volunteers in all areas of the Y, including soccer, swim team, teen programs, the WHY IT MATTERS annual giving campaign, and the advisory board.

The YMCA WHY IT MATTERS annual giving campaign raises money to assist children who come to the Y needing financial assistance to be involved in programs. The Y relies on the generosity of donors to help provide access and opportunities for children, families and adults in the community.

“My Y volunteer experience gives me the satisfaction of positively influencing youth in our community,” said Cushing. “My hope is that the boys and girls I coach will find something valuable in my teachings for their lives.”

Cushing is a partner with Ernst & Young and the swim team coordinator for the Princeton West-Meadow Chase Sharks.
