European Deli specializes in Eastern European food.

Galina Yildirim shares her experiences bringing Eastern European food to all the diverse populations of Northeast Cobb at the European Deli, 3101 Roswell Rd.

Q. What's the hardest thing about being a small-business owner in Northeast Cobb?

A: We are Eastern European, and everything we sell here is from Eastern Europe, so it's hard sometimes to attract all the nationalities that live here.

A: To serve good food and to see people happy and coming back.

Q. What is the best thing about Northeast Cobb?

A: Before we were open in Sandy Springs, and there were no people from Eastern Europe, and we moved here because there are a lot of people from Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Bulgaria in this area.

Q. Why did you choose to open your business in Northeast Cobb?

A: Again, because of the people from Eastern Europe. There are a few Russian food stores in Atlanta, but there was never one before in East Cobb.

Q. Why did you pick this particular kind of business?

A: My partner has been in this business for 15 years, and when she wanted to move her business from Sandy Springs, she called me to help her.

Q. What are some of the services you offer that people don't know about?

A: We do catering, we have a kitchen, and we cook fresh, homemade food every day, and people love it.

Q. What advice can you offer to someone thinking about starting a small business?

A: Be smart about location, and like what you do.

Q. Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

A: We bake rye bread a couple of times a day. It's fresh and extremely delicious.
