Devon Williams Starts Decathlon with Strong Results

track star, Devon Williams, finished in the top 10 in his first five events of the decathlon Thursday at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.

The junior won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.64, scoring 723 points.

Williams scored 2,506 additional points in the next four events of the decathlon. He finished eighth in the shot put (10.68 meters), third in the long jump (6.09 meters), fourth in the high jump (1.80 meters), and third in the 400-meter dash (51.52).

The decathlon will continue on Friday.
