Why: Many organizations worldwide are not adequately protected from the real and growing threat of cyber-attacks. A recent study by the Center for Strategic and International Studies estimated cyber-attacks cost the global economy $300 billion each year, with the U.S. suffering a $100 million impact per year. With such a massive threat to the global economy, more businesses and governments are seeking out solutions and proactive strategies to combat unauthorized hacking. Hacker Halted provides a unique glimpse into the world of ethical hackers and gives corporate executives, IT professionals and security teams a chance to preview the latest threats and defense strategies

This year’s theme, β€œTechnology and the Zombie Apocalypse,” references the current pop culture prominence of zombies, while tying in how technology could both hurt and help in disaster scenarios.

β€œAs we become more reliant on technology, we can also become more vulnerable to Mother Nature,” said Eric Lopez, EC-Council’s Conference Director. β€œIn an increasingly uncertain world, this conference will be an opportunity to explore how we can use technology as a tool to protect ourselves and our enterprises in a wide range of disaster scenarios.”
