Northeast Cobb middle school girls had their second and final day of tryouts for the Junior Jackets girls softball team Tuesday. The season-opener tournament will take place from Aug. 9 through Aug. 13, and the season will officially start on Monday, Aug. 15.
Junior Jackets head coach Michael Gentile explained, "This year we are going to be solid. We have a lot of girls back from last year which means we must be doing something right. We have five new girls this year.
Our program is successful and I have found that girls will bond with alumni girls who have went on to play college ball. Our alumni have been through the program and give the girls motivation to get through it."
