Kroger and The Empty Stocking Fund Partner to Bring Holiday Cheer, Gifts to Underprivileged Metro Atlanta Children

Two-day drive to raise funds to purchase holiday gifts for children in local communities

Metro Atlanta Kroger stores, in partnership with WSB-TV and the Junior ROTC, have teamed together this holiday season for the annual Empty Stocking Fund β€œDrive Day.”

On Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 2, more than 2,500 cadets representing 30 metro Atlanta high schools’ JROTC programs will be on-site at more than 67 Kroger stores to raise awareness and funds for the nonprofit organization, The Empty Stocking Fund. Kroger customer donations to The Empty Stocking Fund will help provide gifts for thousands of children living in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties.

β€œDrive weekend is a great experience to work with these young people and share their enthusiasm in helping children living in poverty,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. β€œThe money raised will provide gift packages for children this holiday season and make a difference for families less fortunate in our communities.”
