Sales Tax Holiday Starts Friday

This special back-to-school period ends at midnight Saturday.

A special Back-to-School sales tax holiday begins throughout Georgia on Friday.Β 

According to the office of Gov. Nathan Deal, tax exempt shopping is limited to the following:Β 

  • Clothing and footwear,Β $100 or lessΒ per item.
  • A single personal computer or computer-related accessories,Β $1,000 or less.
  • General school supplies,Β $20 or lessΒ per item.

Items that do not qualify for the sales tax exemption include jewelry, handbags, watches and umbrellas.Β
