Barrow Adds COVID-19 Cases And Death In Health Department Reports

The availability of hospital beds at area hospitals remains stable.

The Northeast Health District added only two confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, both in Barrow County, and the seven-day rolling average of confirmed cases in the 10-county region dropped to 15.1.

The seven-day rolling average of added cases in the Northeast Health District has declined in each of the last six days from 27.1 on May 6.

While the Daily Status Report lists no new deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the 10-county region, the separate Department of Public Health Long-Term Care Facility Report released late Monday afternoon reported a new death at Winder Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Barrow County.

The Daily Status Report list of deaths in the 10-county region is 39, while the Long-Term Care Facility Report lists 32 at long-term care facilities in the region, including two in Oconee County’s High Shoals Health and Rehabilitation that have never appeared in the Long-Term Care Report.

Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry on Monday reported, based on Georgia Emergency Management Agency data released to him, the addition of a new Active COVID-19 case in the county, bringing the total number of active cases to 21.

The number of available beds in the region’s hospitals remains stable, according to data from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.
