Come Meet and Run with the Big, and Little, Dogs

UGA Vet School brings high school students to campus for a day.

Want to be a veterinarian? Come try it out for a day.

High school students can begin to register on Aug. 10 for the seventh annual “Vet School for a Day: at the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. The day will be Wednesday, Sept. 28. Students from across the state will learn about careers in veterinary medicine.

They will be on campus in the school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., touring the teaching hospital, hearing a panel discussion by faculty veterinarians in a variety of specialties and meeting veterinary student leaders. Students also will learn how hard it is to get into vet school and what they need to study to be prepared.
