COVID-19 Deaths, Cases In NE Health District Continue To Fall

Clarke County added its 101 confirmed COVID-19 death.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Thursday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added three confirmed COVID-19 deaths and 217 new cases of the disease.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added confirmed deaths dropped below an average of six deaths per day for the first time since Jan. 15.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped below 200 for the first time since Dec. 3.
  • The Department of Community Health also reported the COVID-19 death of a personal care home resident in Elbert County.
  • Malcom Bridge Middle School reported two new individuals who tested positive on Thursday. It also had reported two positive tests on Wednesday.
  • Area hospitals reported 19 fewer COVID-19 patients than on Wednesday.
  • The state added 52,331 vaccinations on Thursday.
