Crime Report: Orange Substance Damages Moving Car
The following information was gathered from Oconee County Sheriff's Office reports and highlights incidents reported Jan. 23-29.

Orange Substance Damages Moving Car: A woman traveling south on Hog Mountain Road north of Washington Farms around 7 p.m. on Jan. 27 said something hit and damaged the passenger side mirror of her 2010 Mercedes Benz.
A deputy found orange pulp and juice spattered on the front quarter panel of the door and windshield. No large pieces of orange were found, so the deputy noted most likely the damage was caused by a beverage and not a piece of fruit.
Because the area is littered with trash, the deputy said there is a "strong possibility" that the object that struck the car was a glass or plastic bottle of juice that had been stirred up off of the road from a vehicle in front of the victim's car or by a passenger of a passing vehicle.
