Death Of 24-Year-Old In Oconee Pushes Up COVID District Average

The rolling averages of added cases in the NE Health District, Oconee, and Clarke counties increased.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Sunday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added one COVID-19 death—of a 24-year-old male in Oconee County.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added confirmed deaths increased slightly.
  • The District added 51 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases declined.
  • The rolling averages of added cases in both Oconee and Clarke counties decreased.
  • Area hospital reported three fewer COVID-19 patients.
  • The CDC is reporting that 11.9 percent of the state’s population is fully vaccinated, up from 11.6 percent on Saturday.
