USA Gymnastics and gymnastics clubs across the country, including Oconee Gymnastics Center, will join forces to break the world record for the most handstands done at one time. At 1 p.m. on Saturday at Oconee Gymnastics Center, gymnasts, families, friends and gymnastics enthusiasts are invited to come stand on their hands. It is important that all handstand participants have their "feet up" at the same time across the country. The actual handstands must be done at exactly 1 p.m.
National Gymnastics Day is held each year to show support for the sport of gymnastics and to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network. The money raised is distributed to each gym club's local Children's Miracle Network hospital, which helps children around the country who are fighting illness. For more information, call 706-769-1010.
