July 7 BOC Meeting Highlights

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. The following actions were taken at the meeting:

• Approved Rezone No. P20-0009 for 12.14 acres located on Apalachee Downs Drive from AR-3 to AR-3 with modifications to Rezone No. 3576
• Denied Rezone No. P20-0013 for 4.52 acres located on Georgia Highway 316, Dials Mill Extension, Dials Mill Spur from AG (Agricultural) to B-1 (General Business)
• Denied Rezone No. P20-0030 for 32.079 acres located at US Highway 78 / Mars Hill Road from B-2 (Highway Business) to B-2 (Highway Business) with modifications to Rezone No. 7702
• Approved with one condition Rezone No. P20-0034 for 3.00 acres located east of Old Bishop Road from AG (Agricultural) to AR-3 (Agricultural Residential Three Acre)
• Approved with conditions Variance No. P20-0035 for 19.28 acres located on Cliff Dawson for reduced buffers between agri-tourism use and single family residential use
• Approved Variance No. P20-0053 for 0.922 acres located at Julian Crossing and Julian Drive to allow an accessory structure in front yard of residential property
• Approved Variance No. P20-0091 for ±39.55 acres located East of Hog Mountain Road and West of Stonebridge Parkway for Rezone No. P20-0092
• Approved with one condition Rezone No. P20-0092 for 7.72 acres located at McRees Gin Road / Ashford Road AG (Agricultural) to AR-3 (Agricultural Residential Three Acres)
• Appointed Fatma Gurel Kazanci, Emily Mixon, Rachel L. Tandy, and Ben Young to Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission
• Approved adoption of the SPLOST 2021 Intergovernmental Agreement with municipalities
• Approved revisions to the Human Resources Policy
• Approved FY21 Family Connection Contract for the period July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021
• Approved Public Works FY20 County Roads Resurfacing Bid to C. W. Matthews in the amount of $2,094,137.00 (Funding: SPLOST 2015, FY20 Local Maintenance Improvement Grant/LMIG, FY21 General Fund)
• Approved Senior Center FY2020 Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)/Aging Services Contract with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission for the period April 28, 2020, through September 30, 2021
• Approved Senior Center FY21 Coordinated Transportation Agreement with Northeast Georgia Regional Commission for the period of July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021
• Approved FY21 Public Defender Indigent Services Contract in the amount of $179,386.00 for a term to begin July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021
• Approved Contract Modification for the Oconee Veterans Park Roof Renovation Project in the amount of $53,620.00 for a project total in the amount of $148,290.00 (SPLOST 2015)
• Approved Bid Award for Oconee County Auditor to Rushton Accounting & Business Advisors for a total of $274,850.00 over a five-year period
• Approved acceptance of rights-of-way in the Bishop Pointe Preserve Subdivision cul-de-sacs (Preserve Landing and Pointe Court)
• Approved amendments to the Board of Elections & Registration Intergovernmental Agreements with the City of Watkinsville, Town of Bishop, and Town of North High Shoals regarding qualifying procedures
• Approved Alcohol License Modification for CVS Pharmacy No. 4719, 2080 Hog Mountain Road, to change the Registered Agent to Mellisa Waynick
