NE District Adds 98 COVID Cases; Critical Care Hospital Beds At 0

The Georgia Department of Public Health on Monday reported 98 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the 10 counties that make up the Northeast Health District, bringing the seven-day rolling average of added cases to 133.3, or just shy of the record of 133.9 set on Friday.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency said on Monday that no critical care beds were available at area hospitals, the second time in the last four days that has happened.

The Agency does not list the exact time when the 70 critical care beds in area hospitals were fully occupied. The Monday Situation Report COVID-19 is dated for 3:32 p.m.

Prior to Friday, zero available beds had never been recorded going back to April 17, when these data on hospital bed use were first made public.

In the Monday report, the Georgia Emergency Management Agency listed 78 Emergency Room Beds and 136 General Input Beds available.

In the Monday Department of Public Health Daily Status Report, Oconee County added six cases, and Clarke County added 26, and every other county in the District added at last two cases.

The Department of Public Health Daily Status Report did not list any new deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the Northeast Health District for the third day in a row, and the seven-day average of added deaths dropped to 0.9 from 1.0 the day before

The Department of Community Health Long-Term Care Facility Report on Monday listed seven additional COVID-19 Positive Staff among the 30 long-term care facilities in the Northeast Health District with COVID-19 cases among their residents and/or staff.

The report also listed 14 new COVID-19 cases among the residents.

University Nursing and Rehab Center on Epps Bridge Road in Clarke County accounted for four of the newly reported staff with the disease and all 14 of the newly reported COVID-19 positive residents.
