NE Health District Adds 10 COVID-19 Deaths, 447 New Cases
Area long-term care facilities experiencing an outbreak of the disease.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Tuesday for Oconee and Clarke counties and the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.
- The Northeast Health District recorded 10 COVID-19 deaths in Wednesday state health department reports.
- Two of the deaths were in Clarke County.
- The District added 447 new COVID-19 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases declined in the District for the second day in a row.
- Oconee County added 40 cases and Clarke County added 132, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases in each county increased.
- The Department of Community Health reported widespread outbreaks of COVID-19 at long-term care facilities in the District, including at facilities in Oconee and Clarke counties.
- Area hospitals report a drop in COVID-19 patients but a big jump in ICU bed usage.
- The Department of Public Health reported giving 12,482 COVID-19 vaccinations across the state on Wednesday, down from the 15,941 given on Tuesday.
