NE Health District Adds 237 COVID-19 Cases, No Deaths

Area hospitals report continuing increases in the number of COVID-19 patients.

Here is a summary of COVID-19 developments on Sunday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the whole 10-county Northeast Health District:

The District added 237 COVID-19 cases and no deaths from the disease.

The Daily Status Report included no new cases based on antigen tests, reflecting the irregularity of reporting over the holidays

The seven-day rolling averages of added cases in the District, in Oconee County, and in Clarke County dropped.

The seven-day rolling average of added COVID-19 deaths dropped slightly.

The number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals increased again to its highest level ever.

Area hospitals reported increased number of COVID-19 patients every day since Dec. 23.

The positivity rate for molecular tests added on Sunday across the state was the highest ever recorded.
