NE Health District Adds 625 COVID-19 Cases, One Death

Area hospitals report addition of eight COVID-19 patients.

Below is a summary of data from Thursday on COVID-19 for the Northeast Health District, which includes Oconee and Clarke counties.

  • The Northeast Health District added 625 new COVID-19 cases and one death from the disease on Thursday.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases reached a new record of 412.6 cases per day.
  • Oconee County added 56 cases, and Clarke County added 100.
  • The death—in Jackson County—brings to 406 the number of confirmed deaths in the District from COVID-19.
  • Area long-term care facilities added 10 COVID-19 Positive Residents and 10 COVID-19 Positive Staff. Adding cases were facilities in Oconee and Clarke counties.
  • Area hospitals added eight additional COVID-19 patients, for a new high of 246 patients with the disease.
