NE Health District Adds 7 COVID-19 Cases, Same As Last Saturday

Data reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health vary by day of the week. The NE District added two deaths.

The Northeast Health District, which includes Oconee and Clarke counties, added only seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 with the noon Daily Status Report of the Georgia Department of Public Health on Saturday.

The seven cases compare with the 38 added on Friday and the 37 added on Thursday.

Reporting by the Department of Public Health varies by day of the week. On April 11, or Saturday a week ago, the Northeast Health District also added seven cases. The seven-day rolling average for Saturday is 23.9 cases per day, which is exactly what it was on Friday.

The noon Saturday Daily Status report added two new deaths attributable to the COVID-19 disease in the 10-county District: a 90-year-old male in Clarke County without known underlying conditions and an 85-year old from Oglethorpe without specified gender and without known underlying conditions.

The total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is now 13 in Clarke County, two in Oglethorpe County, and 24 in the 10-county region.

The Department of Public Health on Friday afternoon released an updated Long-Term Care Facility COVID-19 Report listing six nursing homes and two personal care homes in the 10-county Northeast Health District, with a total of 49 COVID Positive Cases, 14 deaths and nine COVID Positive Staff.

Across the state of Georgia, the number of confirmed cases increased by 475 on Saturday, down from the 1,525 on Friday and down from the 676 on Saturday a week ago. The number of deaths was 23, down from 63 on Friday but up from the 12 recorded on Saturday of last week.
