NE Health District Adds 87 COVID Cases, Two Deaths In Reports

The Northeast Health District added 87 confirmed cases of COVID-19 based on molecular tests on Wednesday, pushing up the seven-day rolling average of added cases for the third day in a row.

The 10-county District added one death from the disease in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report.

The death was of a 67-year-old male from Walton County with a chronic condition.

The Daily Status Report lists 312 deaths from COVID-19 in the Northeast Health District, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths is 1.4, down from 1.6 on Tuesday.

The Department of Community Affairs in its Long-Term Care Facility Report on Wednesday separately listed a death at Bountiful Hills personal care home in Jackson County, the third at the facility, which has 36 residents.

Every county in the Northeast Health District added at least two cases in the Daily Status Report of the Department of Public Health.

Oconee County added seven and Clarke County added 16. The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased slightly in Oconee County on Wednesday and decreased slightly in Clarke County.

The Northeast Health District added 61 antigen positive cases on Wednesday in addition to the 87 confirmed cases based on molecular tests. Four of the newly added antigen cases were in Oconee County, and 12 were in Clarke County.

The University of Georgia, in its COVID-19 Health And Exposure Update on Wednesday, reported 50 Positive COVID-19 tests locally in the week ending Nov. 1, up from 45 the week before, and 79 Positive COVID-19 tests locally and outside Clarke County, up from 67 a week earlier.

The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Wednesday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (63) increased by one from the day before, that the number of ICU beds in use (58) was the same as the day before, and that the number of adult ventilators in use (24) decreased by 11 from the day before.
