NE Health District Adds Fewest COVID-19 Cases In Two Weeks

The Department of Public Health listed no new COVID-19 deaths in the District in the Sunday Daily Status Report.

The Northeast Health District added 64 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday with the release of the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report, the smallest number of cases added since 50 were recorded on July 12.

Sunday usually is a light day of reporting, but 99 cases were added a week ago, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 128.9 on Sunday from 133.9 on Saturday.

The Daily Status Report also listed no new deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the 10-county Northeast Health District on Sunday, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths was 1.0, up from 0.9 on Saturday.

On Sunday of last week the Department of Public Health had removed from the list one death previously reported in the Northeast Health District.

Every county in the Northeast Health District except Greene added at least one confirmed COVID-19 case on Sunday.

Oconee County added two cases, and Clarke County added 10.

In the last 21 days, Oconee County has added 157 cases and Clarke County has added 735. These numbers are broad indicators of the number of active cases in the two counties.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency in its Situation Report COVID-19 on Saturday afternoon listed 10 Critical Care Beds available in area hospitals, down from 11 on Saturday but up from 0 on Friday.
