NE Health District Adds Five COVID-19 Deaths In State Reports

The deaths were in Oconee, Clarke and Elbert counties. Area hospitals reported increases in COVID-19 patients.

Here is a summary of the COVID-19 data released by the state of Georgia on Monday localized for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the surrounding 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added five deaths from COVID-19, one in Oconee County, three in Clarke County, and one in Elbert County.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added deaths in the District based on the two deaths reported by the Department of Public Health remained unchanged.
  • The District added 151 cases, with 13 of those in Oconee County and 22 in Clarke County.
  • The seven-day rolling averages fell for the District, Oconee, and Clarke.
  • Positivity rates for molecular tests conducted in Oconee County on Dec. 24 were 37.9 percent, 23.0 percent in Clarke, and 19.6 percent in the District.
  • Long-term care facilities in the District added 56 new COVID-19 cases among residents and 29 new cases among staff since Dec. 22.
  • Included were cases in Oconee and Clarke counties.
  • Area Hospitals reported a continuing increase in COVID-19 patients.
