NE Health District Adds Record 19 Confirmed COVID-19 Deaths

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Saturday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added a record 19 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased.
  • The District added only 358 new cases of the disease, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to its lowest level in a month.
  • Four of the new confirmed COVID-19 deaths were in Clarke County, which also added a death on Friday.
  • The number of COVID-19 patients, the number of ICU beds in use, and the number of adult ventilators in use all declined at area hospitals.
  • The Department of Public Health does not release vaccination data at the county or district level, but, across the state, 913,939 doses have been administered, representing 69.1 percent of the doses allocated to the state.
