NE Health District Adds Two COVID-19 Deaths And 148 Cases
Oconee County added three confirmed COVID-19 cases, and Clarke County added 64. The University of Georgia also released its COVID-19 report.

The Northeast Health District added two COVID-19 deaths with the release of the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Wednesday, the 13th day in a row the District has added deaths from the novel coronavirus.
Both of the deaths were in Barrow County–of a 64-year female and of a female aged 90 plus, both with chronic conditions.
The Daily Status Report also removed a Clarke County death–of a 62-year-old male whose death was reported on Aug. 6–from the archive, so the seven-day rolling average of added deaths dropped to 2.7 from 3.0 on Tuesday.

The District added 148 cases, with every county in the District adding at least a case, Oconee County adding three, and Clarke County adding 64. The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased to 128.7 on Wednesday from 125.9 on Tuesday.
The University of George released its second COVID-19 Health And Exposure Update on Wednesday, showing 32 Positive COVID-19 tests from its surveillance testing, 38 positive tests at the University Health Center, and 33 positive tests at Athens and Local Community sites, for a total of 103 Positive local tests.

That figure had been 21 a week earlier.
The Department of Community Health reported on Wednesday that the number of COVID-19 Positive Residents at long-term care facilities in the Northeast Health District had increased by 24 from the report on Tuesday and the number of COVID-19 Positive Staff had increased by nine.
The Georgia Hospital Association and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, as of 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, reported 116 COVID-19 Patients in area hospital, down from 123 on Tuesday, 62 ICU Beds In Use, down from 67 on Tuesday, and 30 Adult Ventilators In Use, up from 29 on Tuesday.
