Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Monday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District..

  • The Northeast Health District added 143 new cases of COVID-19, and the rolling average of added cases increased for the first time since Jan. 29.
  • The District added two confirmed COVID-19 deaths—of a 60-year-old in Barrow County and a 61-year-old in Greene County, both without a chronic condition—and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths declined slightly.
  • The District added one “probable death” from COVID-19—in Oconee County.
  • The rolling average of added cases increased in both Oconee and Clarke counties.
  • Newly released data show that the Northeast Health District is lagging the state in administration of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Area hospitals reported that the number of COVID-19 patients, the number of ICU beds in use, and the number of adult ventilators in use all increased.
