NE Health District Has Drop In COVID Cases, Increase In Deaths

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Monday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.
- The Northeast Health District added 125 new COVID-19 cases on Monday and eight deaths from the disease.
- The seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased—breaking 10 confirmed deaths from the disease per day for the first time.
- One of the confirmed deaths was in Clarke County.
- Area hospitals reported an increase in COVID-19 patients, a decrease in ICU beds in use, and an increase in adult ventilators in use.
- The state reported administering 30,833 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines on Monday, and an additional allocation to the state of 250,950 doses of the vaccine.
