NE Health District Sees Drop In COVID Cases, Increase In Deaths

Clarke and Walton counties each report a death attributed to COVID-19.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Monday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 267 new COVID-19 cases on Monday and two deaths from the disease.
  • One of the deaths was in Clarke County, the other in Walton County.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases has declined each of the last five days and now is 494.3.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased to 6.4. That average has not decreased day-to-day since Jan. 4.
  • Oconee County Schools has reported at least 12 positive COVID-19 tests at the system’s 11 schools since the end of classes on Friday.
  • Area hospitals reported one fewer COVID-19 patient, one less ICU bed in use, and one less adult ventilator in use than on Sunday.
