NE Heath District Adds 285 COVID-19 Cases And Two Deaths
The deaths were in Oconee and Clarke counties, bringing the total number of deaths in Oconee to 21 and in Clarke to 35.

The seven-day rolling averages of added COVID-19 cases and deaths in the Northeast Health District dropped on Tuesday, a day on which reporting to the Department of Public Health likely was suppressed by the holiday.
The Department of Public Health did add 285 cases in the 10-county Northeast Health District, with 206 of those from Clarke County. Oconee County added 13 case.
The seven-day rolling average of added cases in the District dropped from 218.1 on Monday to 216.9 on Tuesday.

The District added two deaths, one in Oconee County and the other in Clarke County. A week ago, the district added 10 deaths, so the seven-day rolling average of added deaths dropped sharply from 3.1 on Monday to 2.0 on Tuesday.
The Oconee County death was of a 53-year-old female with a chronic condition, and the Clarke County death was of a 38-year-old female, also with a chronic condition.

The seven-day rolling average of the percentage of molecular tests that were positive in Oconee County was 9.9 on Tuesday, down from 10.2 on Monday. In Clarke County, the seven-day rolling average of molecular tests that were positive dropped from 17.7 on Monday to 15.2 on Tuesday.
Area hospitals reported little change from Monday in COVID-19 hospital patients and hospital and equipment use, in contrast to the state as a whole, where there numbers all dropped.
The Department of Community Health, in its Long-Term Care Facility Report for Tuesday, listed three new cases of COVID-19 among residents of the 35 facilities in the Northeast Health District with COVID-19 residents and/or staff, and five new staff members with the disease.
New to the list, since the last report on Friday, was Magnolia Estates of Oconee County, 1641 Virgil Langford Road south of SR 316, which listed its first case among staff. None of the residents is listed as COVID-19 positive.
