Northeast Health District Adds 103 COVID-19 Cases, One Death

The Northeast Health District added 103 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with the release of the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report on Sunday and one death from the disease.

The seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased to 1.9 in the District, which had not reported a death from the disease on Sunday of last week.

The confirmed case included 59 based on molecular tests, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases based on that test dropped to 89.6 on Sunday from 90.4 on Saturday.
Morgan and Greene did not report any new COVID cases based on molecular tests, but the other eight counties in the District did. Oconee county reported three cases and Clarke County reported 15. The seven-day rolling average of added cases in both counties fell slightly on Sunday.

The 44 positive antigen tests compared with 14 on Saturday. The Department of Public Health began releasing the count of cases based on antigen tests only on Tuesday.
Oconee County added 15 new cases based on antigen tests, and Clarke County added nine.
The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Sunday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (76) decreased by one from the day before, that the number of ICU beds in use (58) was the same as the day before, and that the number of adult ventilators in use (41) increased by seven from the day before.
