Oconee Adds COVID Death, Clarke Adds Two; District Average Drops

The seven-day rolling average of added cases in the Northeast Health District also dropped.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Tuesday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

The Department of Public Health reported five new confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the Northeast Health District.
One of those was in Oconee County, and two were in Clarke County.
The five cases compared with 16 on Tuesday of last week, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths dropped sharply.
The seven-day rolling average of added cases in the District also fell.
North Oconee High School reported that “two individuals” at the school tested positive for COVID-19.
Area hospitals reported an increase in the number of patients with COVID-19.
The Department of Public Health reported administration of an additional 1,382 doses of the vaccine.
