Oconee County Adds 5 New COVID-19 Cases In Daily Status Report
The Northeast Health District added 29 new cases in the 1 p.m. Friday report.

Oconee County added five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report released at 1 p.m. on Friday, and the 10-county Northeast Health District, of which Oconee County is a part, added 29 new cases.
Clarke County added nine cases in the Friday Daily Status Report, and every county in the Northeast Health District except Morgan and Greene counties added at last one case.
The 29 added cases in the District were down from the 43 added on Thursday and 42 added a week ago, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases for the Northeast Health District dropped from 37.0 on Thursday to 35.1 on Friday.

No new deaths were reported in the Northeast Health District in the Daily Status Report on Friday, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths dropped from 1.7 on Thursday to 1.6 on Friday.
Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry on Thursday reported that, based on data given him by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Oconee County had no new addresses added to its list of locations with Active COVID-19 residents. Berry’s list includes six addresses in the county.

The Department of Community Health Long-Term Care Facility Report for Thursday listed two new deaths from its Wednesday report, both at a nursing home in Monroe in Walton County.
That report listed 11 new COVID-19 Positive Residents at long-term care facilities in the 10-county Northeast Health District and one new COVID-19 Positive Staff, at homes in Barrow, Clarke and Walton counties.
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency on Thursday reported that the number of available Critical Care Beds at area hospitals had increased from 10 on Wednesday to 12. The hospitals have 70 critical care beds.
The Georgia Department of Revenue distributions of sales tax for the month of April, when the state’s economy was restricted due to COVID-19, show that Oconee County collection of Local Option Sales Tax, Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, and Education Local Option Sales Tax all were down 10 percent from April of 2019.
The March collection also had been down 10 percent from March of 2019.
