Oconee County Adds Third COVID-19 Death In Two Days
The Northeast Health District added 435 COVID-19 cases. Area hospitals report an increase of 31 COVID patients from the day before.

Oconee County recorded its third death attributed to COVID-19 in two days with the release on Tuesday of the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report.
The county also recorded 57 new cases of the disease, a new record.
The Oconee County death was the sole death listed in the the Daily Status Report for the 10-county Northeast Health District on Tuesday, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths in that Report held steady at 2.0.

The Oconee County death was of a 74-year-old male without a chronic condition. The deaths listed on Monday were of a 51-year-old male without a chronic condition and of an 89-year-old male, also without a chronic condition.
The Department of Community Health also listed a COVID-19 death in its Long-Term Care Facility Report on Tuesday. That death was at Great Oaks personal care home in Monroe in Walton County. The Department of Community Health does not list characteristics of the deceased.

The Northeast Health District as a whole added 435 cases of COVID-19 in the Tuesday Daily Status Report, and because 467 cases were added a week ago, the seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 394.7 on Tuesday from 399.3 on Monday.
The seven-day rolling average of added cases in Oconee County increased to 34.3 on Tuesday from 32.7 on Monday.
Clarke County added 54 cases, and the Clarke County seven-day rolling average of added cases dropped to 67.1 on Tuesday from 71.0 on Monday.
Oconee County Schools added at least one case of COVID-19 among its students on Tuesday.
The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) reported on Tuesday that the number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals (187) increased by 31 from the day before, that the number of ICU beds in use (67) increased by two from the day before, and that the number of adult ventilators in use (34) increased by one from the day before.
The Department of Community Health listed 12 new COVID-19 Positive Residents and seven new COVID-19 Positive Staff at the 38 long-term care facilities in the Northeast Health District covered by the Long-Term Care Facility Report.
