Oconee County Adds Two COVID-19 Deaths As NE District Adds 13

The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased with the addition of 547 new cases.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Thursday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 15 deaths from COVID-19 in state health reports on Thursday.
  • Two of those deaths were in Oconee County, which also added a confirmed death on Wednesday.
  • Thirteen of the added deaths were listed by the Department of Public Health and are considered confirmed deaths. This includes the two Oconee County deaths.
  • Two of the deaths were listed by the Department of Community Health.
  • The Northeast Health District added 547 new cases of COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased—for the first time in eight days.
  • The number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals also increased after declining for four days.
  • The University of Georgia reported a drop in the number of positive tests for COVID-19 among its students, faculty, and staff.
